Our deepest coverage is in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio, and Arizona. If you're outside those states, your Student Coordinator will scope your local market honestly before you commit.

Can I do my Geriatric rotation in a SNF or long-term care setting?

Yes — SNF and long-term care placements are a core part of our Geriatric NP network. Many GNP students specifically request SNF or LTC exposure because post-acute and long-term care is one of the fastest-growing employment areas for geriatric NPs. Tell your Student Coordinator which setting you need (SNF only, assisted living, dedicated memory unit, or a mix), and they'll match accordingly. Some preceptors round across multiple SNFs in a single week, which gives you exposure to several facilities and patient panels within one rotation.

Can I get palliative care or hospice exposure during a Geriatric NP rotation?

Yes. We have preceptors with dedicated palliative-care and hospice practices in most major metros, and many geriatric primary care preceptors integrate palliative principles into their routine practice. If you specifically need hospice hours (e.g., a home hospice service or an inpatient palliative care consult team), say so at the discovery call — those placements are more limited and typically need additional lead time. We can also pair a primary geriatric rotation with a shorter palliative care block if your program requires distinct hours.

Yes — house-call and home-based primary care practices exist in our network, though they're concentrated in specific metros where the model has scaled. Markets with stronger home-based primary care availability include Philadelphia, Tampa, Phoenix, Houston, and parts of Southern California. Home-based rotations give you exposure to in-home assessment, caregiver dynamics, environmental safety evaluation, and the logistics of mobile medicine — a meaningful career path for many GNP graduates. Lead time is important; flag the preference early.

Pricing is in line with primary care — typical full rotation $2,300–$4,000 depending on hours and state. A 180-hour rotation in a standard-cost state usually lands in the $2,300–$3,200 range; longer blocks or higher-cost markets push toward $4,000. Yes. Many of our Geriatric NP preceptors manage moderate-to-advanced dementia panels routinely, and we have preceptors in dedicated memory care units and geriatric psychiatry-adjacent practices in larger metros. If your goal is concentrated dementia or behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) exposure, tell your Student Coordinator. They can target preceptors with higher dementia patient mix or memory-unit affiliations rather than a generalist geriatric clinic where dementia is one part of a broader panel. Behavioral case complexity varies considerably by setting, so being explicit about your learning goal up front shapes the match.
