Over 360 active AGPCNP preceptors nationwide, across general adult primary care, internal medicine, and geriatric clinics. It's one of our deepest non-FNP specialty networks, in part because many of the same primary care practices that host FNP students also accept AGPCNP students. Our strongest coverage is in Florida, Texas, California, New York, and New Jersey — markets where adult and geriatric primary care demand is concentrated. If you're in a smaller market, your Student Coordinator can usually still match you, but lead time matters more.

Can I split my AGPCNP rotation between adult primary care and geriatrics?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and many AGPCNP programs explicitly require it. Some students complete a single rotation with a preceptor who sees both general adults and a geriatric panel; others do two paired rotations at separate sites. Both setups are supported. If your school requires a specific number of geriatric hours, send your clinical handbook to your Student Coordinator so we can map preceptor patient mix accurately. We'd rather under-promise on geriatric content during matching than discover the gap mid-rotation.

What's the typical cost of an AGPCNP rotation?

Pricing is in line with FNP — typical full rotation $2,300–$4,200 depending on hours and state. A 180-hour rotation in a standard-cost state usually lands in the $2,300–$3,200 range; a 360-hour block in a higher-cost market can run $3,800–$4,200. How long does the match take for AGPCNP?

Average match time is around 7 days from rotation request to paperwork-ready, given the depth of our AGPCNP network. Matches in our top-coverage states (Florida, Texas, California, New York, New Jersey) often happen faster. Matches in smaller markets or with specific subspecialty requirements (e.g., a memory clinic or a wound care focus) can take longer — your Student Coordinator will give you an honest timeline during the discovery call rather than committing to something they can't deliver.

What states have the strongest AGPCNP networks?

Florida, Texas, California, New York, and New Jersey have our deepest AGPCNP coverage. These markets combine large older-adult populations with high concentrations of independent primary care practices and geriatric clinics that take students. Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Georgia also have solid networks. If you're in a state with thinner coverage, we'll be upfront about that on the discovery call — and if we can't match you within your travel radius, you pay nothing under the Perfect Preceptor Promise.

Will I see geriatric patients even if I'm placed in a general adult clinic?

Accepted Answer

Almost certainly yes. Most adult primary care panels skew older, and a typical AGPCNP preceptor in an internal medicine or family medicine practice will see a meaningful share of patients 65+ on any given day. What you may not get in a general clinic is concentrated exposure to geriatric-specific syndromes (advanced dementia, end-of-life planning, complex polypharmacy) — for that, we'd recommend pairing the rotation with a dedicated geriatric placement. Your Student Coordinator can scope both.

Question 7

Can I get an AGPCNP rotation in a specific setting like a memory clinic or PACE program?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes, depending on your market. Memory clinics, PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) sites, and house-call practices exist in our network but they're concentrated in specific metros. Tell your Student Coordinator the exact setting and we'll scope availability before you commit. If the setting isn't available locally, we may be able to match you in a nearby metro, or we'll suggest the closest substitute — for example, a geriatric primary care clinic with strong cognitive assessment volume in lieu of a dedicated memory clinic.
